Alpena Convention & Visitors Bureau

The Alpena Convention & Visitors Bureau-recently launched their new Web site, which includes-several customized applications that give the Alpena CVB complete management of their Web presence.

Situated on Lake Huron's Thunder Bay, Alpena is a premier location for Great Lakes maritime heritage and recreation. Alpena is one of Michigan's "Cool Cities" for its commitment to building a vibrant, energetic, attractive city. The Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary's Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center is a popular destination which allows the public to experience and appreciate the shipwrecks in Thunder Bay. You can see shipwrecks on a glass-bottom boat shipwreck tour or step aboard one of the tall ships that routinely visit the community in the summer. Learn about the unique history of island lighthouses on a boat tour or spend the night on an island and experience the life of a keeper. Indulge your interest in Great Lakes history by visiting seven lighthouses in the Alpena area.

It is imperative that our CVB clients not only have access to their entire Web site content, events, images and visitors leads, but of equal importance, giving the CVB members the ability to manage their business information, images, download leads from the Web site and interact with the CVB from their Member's Only area to receive the latest updates from their Board and various sources from around the State.

A customized Events Calendar to control event listings topics, colors, views - along with a front end "add your event" form that other community members and organizations can submit for posting on the CVB's Web site. Upon submission of an event, the site administrator is notified, and can simply "turn on" the event if approved for posting. No more double entry!
The Photo Gallery database allows any image that is placed in the Gallery to be sent as a E-Card - An excellent way to share the views of community and surrounding areas automatically via the Internet - along with our CVB's Website address.
