PortfolioTourism Economic Development Council - Metro Detroit
The Tourism Economic Development Council (TEDC) leads and directs programs to make metro Detroit a competitive tourism destination. It is a public/private partnership created in March 2002 to guide the implementation of the Tourism Vision of the Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau. The important features for the site development of the TEDC was to create a communication tool between each of the Tourism Action Groups (TAGS), giving them an Internet portal to receive and retrieve important committee information. Included with this was the ability for them to maintain a 'members only' area that they could post sensitive information. The TEDC administrators maintain the information in a secured environment, flagging each section of the site as being available for public or private viewing. This gives them complete management over the content of the Web site, including the continued growth of the Web site by using the Gaslight Media Toolbox Deluxe. This Web site also incorporated our new Dynamic Registration Application, giving the TEDC the ability to offer online registration to the many hospitality courses that they offer to their DMCVB members. In it's first phase of development, the TEDC will continue to add information to the Web site to educate the public, and update the Council Members as to the status of their goals as they achieve them!
