The History of Gaslight Media

1994
Gaslight Media's founders assist in building the areas first community Internet service.1995
Gaslight Media's founders created Freeway Internet Services, Northern Michigan's first commercial Internet provider.
1996
Freeway Introduce true "broadband" service to Northern Michigan and the areas first wireless Internet connections.1997
The Freeway Web Factory expands Internet content (Web) offerings to Northern Michigan's important vacation and travel industry.1998
By 1998, Freeway was providing Internet connectivity, content, and consulting services throughout much of the lower peninsula of Michigan. On August 1st of 1998, Freeway sold the Internet connectivity business to Lansing based Voyager Information Services while retaining all Internet content and Web development service customers under the new name of Gaslight Media.
1999
Gaslight Media, out of a need for higher quality connectivity services, began rebuilding an Internet connectivity infrastructure to support both internal needs and the connectivity needs of our more demanding customers.2000
Gaslight Media delivers "big city" connectivity to Northern Michigan via the area's first all fiber Internet backbone connection.2001
Completed infrastructure to deliver high speed Internet to the Gaylord area. Included with this build out was delivering local dial up accounts and dedicated connectivity to many of the local businesses in the Gaylord area.2002
Gaslight Media introduces custom on-line reservations and vacation packaging systems with a focus on Northern Michigan's valuable tourism industry.2003
Gaslight Media re-introduces Northern Michigan to a new breed of more reliable wireless Internet connectivity options.2004
Gaslight Media expands its line of comprehensive applications for the vacation and travel industry and lands contracts with major market bureaus like the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitor's Bureau.
Partnered with University Center Metropolitan Area Network (UCMAN) of Gaylord as the Internet Service Provider of choice by UCMAN to deliver quality Internet services. This included a complete wireless network migration for Internet services throughout Gaylord, along with delivering high quality broadband to the fiber network deployed by UCMAN.
2006 - Present
We are successfully deploying Wireless Network Infrastructures for numerous private and governmental sectors. Housing developments, private associations and resorts have relied on Gaslight Media to engineer and deploy a wireless Internet network for their residences and guests.
2012
Rolled out our new Event Housing Reservation System for the Great Lakes Area Convention & Visitors Bureau who is hosting the 2012 US Youth Soccer Region II (Midwest) Championships. The US Youth Soccer Regional Championships is the second level of the National Championship Series - a year-long series of competitions beginning at the state level, advancing to the regional level, and culminating at the national level.
