Broadband Stimulus for Public Institutions and Organizations
Gaslight Media has traditionally provided quality Broadband Internet and consulting services to a wide range of public institutions. However, times are difficult for many of these institutions and hard decisions regarding where limited funds should be directed are applying pressure to reduce expenses at the very time these services should be expanded. We understand this, and are pleased to announce our own Broadband Stimulus plan specifically to address this problem.
Gaslight Media's Broadband Stimulus plan can deliver, generally in less than a week, low-cost Internet capacity at levels from 10 to 50 Mb/s or more. This service is perfectly suited to environments where numerous computers are mostly used to access information, watch video streams, or browse the web. Educational and library computer centers fit this profile well, but also represent a large load on your Internet connection. Now, you have a way to lighten that load and improve services without an expensive fiber or cable connection.
We think you'll be surprised how affordable this service can be.
Our engineers can also work with your IT professionals to integrate this bandwidth into your network and even to load-balance this connection with other services you may already have. If your institution is in an area where high-bandwidth fiber or cable services are not available, our Broadband Stimulus plan may actually be your only option for adequate Internet connectivity.
We know times are difficult and we want to help. Please call Gaslight Media to find out if our Broadband Stimulus plan is available to your institution or if you'd like us to discuss similar options for your business.

Case Study: UCMAN - Gaylord
UCMAN - University Center Metropolitan Area Network
Using a mix of underground fiber and wireless transport, the network was built originally to connect Otsego county government, 46th Circuit courts, Gaylord Public schools and the University Center. However, soon after launch in 2005—at the request of local businesses and advisors—UCMAN was opened for general availability and to date the network is providing Gaylord area businesses and residents with broadband Internet services.
UCMAN has also established wireless hot spots at Glen’s Market, the University Center (interior and exterior), Treetops Resort restaurant/warming hut on top of ski hill and throughout the central downtown business district of this historic northern Michigan community.
